What You Will Learn

Lithium-ion batteries have piqued the interest of material handling applications because they can offer improved efficiency and productivity compared to conventional lead-acid batteries. The Raymond Corporation has been studying the potential of lithium-ion batteries in partnership with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Navitas Systems. Preliminary results from this application study will be shared at the MODEX presentation.

Key Takeaways

• Lithium-ion batteries can offer improved efficiency, pulling less power off the grid for the same job
• Lithium-ion batteries can eliminate the need for battery swapping, improving productivity
